Our vision is to build a tolerant, multicultural society, where all people can live in harmony. In correspondence with this vision, Global.me project’s mission is to help young people understand the global world and bring internationalization to upper secondary schools in Finland.
The ideology of the curriculum is to relate global education to students’ life experiences and future development. This course is student-centred and practice-oriented. The evaluation of the learning outcome is based on students’ reflection, feedback, field work and research.

Theme: An Interconnected World

  • Personal Values and National Values
  • Stereotypes and Reverse Stereotypes
  • Intercultural Communication Competence
  • Media literacy

Phase 2:

Theme: Be a Global Citizen

Topics:

  • “Right the wrongs”-Children’s Rights
  • “Livestock and livelihood”–Gender equality
  • “People of concern”

-Refugees vs. Immigrants

  • Sustainable development
  • Peace Education

Phase 3:

Theme: Be the CHANGE

Topics:

  • “How can I help?” – Volunteering
  • Workshop and Field work
  • Global Me- Globalisation and me
